FELICITY

SHAYNEE BERG by CHRIS DWYER

MODEL : SHAYNEE BERG | PHOTOGRAPHER : CHRIS DWYER | HAIR & MAKE UP : SHAYNA COUMONT (VOILA LOUNGE) |

Before moving back to his home country Australia to pursue working with Ignite Elite Artists, Chris Dwyer was pumping out an inordinate number of shoots with the vast talent in Vancouver. One of those stops happened to be with us and the entrancing Shaynee Berg. Ignite Elite Artists, an acting agency that’s in the top 3 of Australia, presented a substantial opportunity for Chris as they are now perforating the modeling industry.

Shaynee, proud momma to her pup and best friend Bowzer, entered the modeling and acting industry in a memorable way. While helping her family friend learn lines for an audition, Shaynee was asked if she wanted to meet with an agent. What first started as a fresh and exciting hobby resulted in Shaynee discovering her creative side and potential career. With opportunities and modeling agencies beginning to present themselves in a short time, she delved deeper into the scene. Along with that came the pressures of being in front of a camera, but according to her, that proves to be rare when working with a group that seems familiar. Just Breeze hopes to be in that category.

Besides modeling, Shaynee also has a YouTube channel that highlights beauty & make-up, fashion and tips for modeling and acting that she’s learned from being on various sets. If those ventures interest you, be sure to subscribe to her channel in addition to following on her social media.

We are glad to have worked with the talented Chris Dwyer before he relocated to Australia. The same goes for having the opportunity to work with Shaynee and Shayna. Shayna did a wonderful job on the make up, accompanied by being accommodating and assisting behind the scenes of the shoot. We’re definitely open to collaborating again with this notable roster! With that said, Just Breeze Magazine proudly presents FELICITY: Shaynee Berg by Chris Dwyer.

JB What is your favourite aspect of modeling?

SB Experiencing new things. Every time you show up to set, it’s a brand new experience. Sometimes it feels like you’re repeating the first day of school every week, but once you get past the nerves it’s a lot of fun. I’ve made so many great friendships through working on creative projects with people.

JB What do your pre shoot rituals consist of?

SB For me the most important thing is to get a good nights sleep before a shoot. If I can’t do that, I’ll compensate with a heavy duty eye cream and lots of caffeine.

JB What sort of goals do you wish to achieve through modeling?

SB I love creating. So for me my main goal has always been to create the best images that I am capable of. We live in such a visual world and there are so many people wanting to collaborate and share their passions. I love going through the process of taking an idea and making it a reality.

JB If you weren’t modeling, what would be your ideal career and why?

SB A Youth Counselor and part time Dog Walker. I think it’s important to help guide our youth. I didn’t have the easiest time in High School so if I could help kids navigate past those tough years I would feel very accomplished. And I love dogs…so woof.

JB What is the first thing about a guy that draws your interest?

SB How he carries himself. If you can walk into a room with confidence, I will notice.

JB What advice would you give to a guy trying to approach a girl at the gym?

SB Feel out the vibes. If she’s making eye contact and just so happens to be using all the machines near you, then go for it. If she’s constantly looking at her phone and looks uncomfortable, cut your losses.

JB List 5 things off of your Bucket List that you have yet to conquer.

SB 1. Going skydiving
2. Landing a cover
3. Buying my parents a house
4. Spending a summer in Paris
5. Starting a charity

JB What is your most embarrassing “how to” google search?

SB “How to communicate with my dog when I’m not home”

JB What is your most embarrassing “how to” google search?

SB “How to communicate with my dog when I’m not home”

JB Who is the most inspirational figure you know? And why?

SB My mom. She is an unbelievable human. She has been the most amazing role model to me because she radiates positivity and love. She has faced so many challenges in her life but has over come them all with grace and has never once doubted that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. A close second is my dad who is my rock.

JB What would you say is your biggest regret in life?

SB I wouldn’t say I have one specific regret but in general I am trying to live more in the moment these days by enjoying what’s happening around me rather than worrying about what’s happening around the corner.

JB What piece of advice would you give to a new high school graduate?

SB Take some time to find out what you want to do. Don’t feel rushed by anyone to decide who or what you want to be. Travel every chance you get.

JB Who is your favourite artist/band at the moment? Recommend a song from this artist.

SB At the moment SG Lewis is killing it. His music is my go to in so many situations. “No Less” is my ultimate chilling out song. The kid is gonna do big things, and he’s a pretty nice guy too.

JB What are your top 3 most listened to songs in your music player?

SB “The Party & The After Party” by The Weeknd

“Thirsty” by PARTYNEXTDOOR

“I Remember” by Kaskade, deadmau5

(Side note… Wow I am a good Canadian girl eh?)

JB What does your workout routine currently consist of? How do you stay motivated?

SB I am a gym junkie. Weight training is my favourite but I like to mix it up with kickboxing, pilates, and running. For me the biggest motivation is seeing the progression. By just waking up and going to the gym we have the ability to be a better version of ourselves than the day before. What doesn’t sound amazing about that.

JB What is one thing you would do to make the world a better place?

SB Help educate our youth about what is going on around the world. North American culture is very closed off.

JB What advice would you give to an aspiring model or actress?

SB Surround yourself with good people. The entertainment industry can be very volatile but if you keep good people in your life they will help you stay focused and genuinely care about your best interests. All that shimmers ain’t gold.

JB If you could remove one piece of modern technology, what would it be?

SB Guns. We really shouldn’t need them.

JB What do you think about the irony of the cost of unhealthy additive filled foods which raise the risk of diseases and illnesses costing noticeably less than healthy and organic foods? How do you see this changing in the next 5 years and what effect will it have on society?

SB I grew up being much heavier than I am now. I made a video addressing my story on my YouTube Channel about the long term effects of being unaware about health and fitness. Our society needs to change its views on what eating is. Our bodies are machines and food is our fuel. Yes, some taste better than others and balance is important, but your health is worth the investment. Changes are being made. When I was a kid there was “Fries in a Cup” day at my cafeteria. I am glad that isn’t the case anymore. Hopefully the ball keeps rolling in the next 5 years.

JB In your opinion, what do you feel is the biggest crisis or injustice in the world today?

SB We live in a world where there are still Communist countries. We have a long ways to go.

JB Open Mic – If there is any message you would like to send to the audience, now is your time!

SB As much as I owe a lot of what I’m doing these days to social media, I just want to remind everyone to not forget the importance of personal relationships. It’s so easy to get caught up looking at Instagram for hours (I’m guilty of it too), but you only get one life so make the most of it and get out there tiger. Xx
