Coming off of his sophomore album Malibu, in this track, Anderson .Paak sings about the time he met a girl who took him in, cared for him, and clothed him when he was homeless. We won’t spoil the rest, but to provide one more detail, listening to this track helps to partially realize Anderson’s obstacles and appreciate how far he’s come. Keep an eye out for this talented artist.

G-Eazy – Drifting (feat. Chris Brown & Tory Lanez)

Featuring Tory Lanez’ vocals at the beginning of the track, accompanied by Chris Brown on the chorus, this single off of G-Eazy’s sophomore album When It’s Dark Out has the Oakland rapper fluidly rapping on the verses about missing his old girlfriends. All that combined with the production on the track make it a must listen.

Troye Sivan – THE QUIET
Pop

A song depicting the silent treatment received from someone you love never sounded so pleasing to the ear. Troye Sivan, the South African-born Australian actor, singer, and songwriter highlights his multi-talented facets in this song which is on his debut album, Blue Neighbourhood.

Cage the Elephant – How Are You True
Alternative
(WebsiteSoundcloudInstagram | Twitter | Facebook)

Kentucky band Cage the Elephant mutate a mid-Sixties rock vibe into a 21st-century sound with ease on their new project. The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach can mainly be thanked for that due to him brilliantly producing Cage the Elephant’s fourth album, Tell Me I’m Pretty. In this track, Matt Shultz, lead singer and occasional guitarist of the band, sings about trying to find the will to carry on due to him not recognizing what he’s become, with love potentially being the solution to his despair.

August Alsina – First Time
R&B/Soul
(WebsiteSoundcloudInstagram | Twitter | Facebook)

Sampled from Trippin by Shareefa, we admire this track by August Alsina just as much as the original if not more. Possessing unique talents, Alsina can alter from singing melodically to rapping in a swift manner, immersing one into his innovative style. If you enjoy this,  check out his sophomore album This Thing Called Life.

Willow – Wait a Minute!
Alternative
(WebsiteSoundcloudInstagram | Twitter | Facebook)

Willow plunges herself into the depths of alternative R&B on her debut album Ardipithecus, as she skillfully produced and wrote the majority of the tracks on it. On “Wait a Minute!” Willow sings about love and the feeling of immersing yourself fully into the person you’re into, letting go of any worries. Along with that, she includes the truth of relationships by accepting that some things work and some don’t. Maturity seeps throughout the 15 year old’s lyrics. We think she has a bright future!

Låpsley – Love Is Blind
Electronic
(WebsiteSoundcloudInstagram | Twitter | Facebook)

After receiving vigorous praise from the release of her Understudy EP in January of 2015 and then the release of the summer single “Hurt Me” the 19 year old recently announced her debut album Long Way Home, due to release this upcoming March. Along with the announcement of her debut project, Låpsley shared the new single “Love Is Blind.” A chilled out track paired with excellent production make this a must for your laid back vibe playlists. Pre-order her upcoming album Long Way Home.

Jeremih – Impatient (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)
R&B/Soul

Suggestion: add this track to your bedroom playlist. Now that that’s out of the way, Jeremih triumphantly showcases the range of his voice in “Impatient” by singing about wanting to make love to a beautiful woman. Off an album that took an extended period of time to become a reality, we’re impressed with Late Nights nonetheless.
